Find yourself in the pandemic’s depressing, distressing, “Groundhog Day” loop? L.A. noise-pop duo Boy Deluxe is back to shake you out of it.

“Bundles” is the duo’s latest offering of glitchy, neo-industrial pop from collaborators Hope Simpson and Drew Murray, aka Hope S and True Murra. Consider it shock therapy if you’re stuck in a comfort zone, a shot of adrenaline if you’re mired in a stupor.

The L.A.-via-Seattle duo, formerly known as Ever So Android, released five singles in 2020, and “Bundles” heralds the arrival of a new EP, aptly titled “I Woke Up Like This Again,” out May 7.

“We wrote this song in the middle of a lockdown writing spree in 2020,” Simpson says. “It’s a song about finding a bunch of drugs just when you thought you were out … and then doing them.”

Director Arden Fisher, who did the visuals for last year’s single “So Slow,” returns to give the “Bundles” video a gritty immediacy.

Says Simpson: “The video is a combination of two ideas: one, drugs. And two, we always wanted to make a video with dancing. Arden, as always, helped our vague ideas become a reality.”
